To say people were less than impressed by the $29 pricetag of the Lightning dock connector is an understatement. At $29 a hit, getting adapters from Apple seems to be prohibitively expensive. However, it looks like the Chinese factories are firing at full speed, and now, less than a week after the iPhone 5′s announcement, third-party versions are already available on Amazon.
As spotted by 9to5Mac, at least two versions are up for pre-order already, one for $10, one for $18.
It’s not clear if these have already been manufactured, or are mockups that are in the works once the original cables go out and can be reverse engineered.
My gut feeling is to wait a few months on these so that any kinks can be worked out of the system before picking them up. The last thing you want is to fork out for a non-functional Lightning adapter, and then have to pay full price for one that does what it’s meant to.

Should be made in Russia and renamed Nanotchka.
