Firefox Home Finally Arrives For iOS

366933 Firefox Home Finally Arrives For iOS

Firefox has made their first foray onto the iPhone — and while it’s not a complete browser, it does allow you to move from desktop to mobile slightly easier.

Firefox Home syncs your desktop browsing session and history with your iPhone. You install the Firefox Sync extension on your desktop, and Firefox Home on your phone. The two magically communicate with one another over the cloud, and between them transfer your currently open tabs, bookmarks, and history.

Here are the full instructions, via the Mozilla Blog:

  1. Install Firefox Sync, a free add-on for Firefox, on your desktop.
  2. Restart Firefox and follow prompts to create an account with both a password and a secret phrase.
  3. Go the App Store on your iPhone and search for “Firefox Home” or install it directly fromiTunes.
  4. Launch Firefox Home on your iPhone. You’ll be prompted to enter your Firefox Sync account info. Enter your username, password and Secret Phrase and tap “Done.”
  5. Enjoy!

Some users are having trouble getting Sync to work at present, so the traffic spike may be causing some troubles if you attempt this right now.

I just downloaded and installed it. Works great. Only gripe I have is that the browser is smaller.
