Facebook Camera Hits App Store

Even though Facebook just bought Instagram for a truly astonishing pile of cash, the social network has gone ahead and released its own official photography app. Dunned Facebook Camera, it’s free on the App Store, and is said to be high res, high speed, and full of photo filters.

A totally separate app to the usual Facebook program, Facebook Camera lets you share higher resolution photos more quickly than before, as well as offering multiple image uploads. For a bit more information, you can check out some hands on coverage at The Verge, details at AllThingsD, or the official Facebook blog post.

Here’s the official app description:

Share your photos in a snap with Facebook Camera. Post a bunch of photos to Facebook at once, and see what friends are up to with a feed of nothing but their photos.

– Post multiple photos from your camera roll at a time
– Crop and apply filters to give your photos a new look
– Scroll down a single feed of all your friends’ photos
– Tag your friends, add photo captions and say where you are
– See photos from the different apps your friends use

Looks like we’ll need to update our feature on the best free iPhone apps for Facebook.
