Facebook for iOS has been updated today to version 6.6. The new version brings a number of new features, with the most notable being the ability to edit your posts and comments from within the app. A list of the changes are available after the break.
- Edit your posts and comments, and tap to see all your changes
- Add a photo when you comment
- Express yourself with icons when you post to someone’s timeline (English only)
- Get to privacy shortcuts by tapping the lock by your name in the main menu
- Bug fixes
Not only can you fix your spelling errors or inappropriate replies, the new Facebook update allows you to insert emojis when posting on someone’s timeline.
Today’s update is not the major rewrite that we are expecting sometime this year. That project, being led by former Apple employee Greg Novick, is reportedly in testing. It will feature support for Facebook’s Graph Search tool, allowing users a more intuitive way of finding friends with similar interests. For example, find friends who like the iPhone would produce a list of friends who share that interest. That release is also said to include more the iOS 7 design aesthetics.
The new version is available now under App Store > Updates or by downloading Facebook (free) from the App Store.
