Digitimes: New iPhone In September, iPad In Q4

Digitimes — purveyors of lies and just enough truth that we still cover them — has provided another of its half-true/half-blatantly false supplier reports. According to them, Pegatron has orders for a new iPhone in September (believable) and a new iPad in Q4 (less so).

Pegatron Technology reportedly has landed orders for a new-generation iPhone to be launched in September and a 10-inch iPad to be launched in the fourth quarter, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers. Pegatron is currently an OEM for the iPhone 4S and new iPad.

The next iPad won’t be until next year, it’s just about guaranteed. There’s no way Apple will put out a new model in either calendar Q4 (October-December) or financial Q4 (July-September). But a September production date for the next iPhone? That’s bordering on logical!
