Already tired of the brand new Mercedes in your driveway? Thinking of passing it on to the poolboy, so you can get an even newer model? Well, take heart, because the craziest new feature in the next round of A-Class models will be Siri integration. A-class users will install an app on their iPhone which will let it control a number of features in the car, including with Siri.
According to the press release, drivers will be able to user Siri to “send messages, select music tracks and check the weather forecast or stock prices, as well as to make appointments.” Wait, isn’t that just what Siri can do anyway? Looking over this press release, it’s hard to tell if there’s anything Siri can do here that it can’t do normally, it’s just now piped through the audio and seakersin your fancy new car.
The Drive Kit Plus app will at least have some cool functions of its own: Facebook and Twitter integration, personalized radio, Garmin navigation, and, if you’ve ever lost your car in a parking lot, ’Car Finder’.
