Confirmed: AT&T iPhone 4 Pre-orders sold out

It hasn’t been easy attempting to pre-order an iPhone 4 and now comes word that AT&T has sold out of all remaining pre-orders. If you placed an order with AT&T late Tuesday, BGR has heard that will not receive your iPhone until June 25th or later. If you missed out on the pre-order, you still have other options. Devices will be available in AT&T stores on a first come, first served basis. Apple is still taking orders tonight, but we’ve seen all sorts of issues with placing orders at Apple’s site. It’s relatively easy to reserve an iPhone 4 for pickup at the Apple Store, but we’ve had trouble ordering one for shipment. As for AT&T, they’ve sent this quote to Engadget confirming the pre-order sellout.

iphone4 att pre Confirmed: AT&T iPhone 4 Pre orders sold out

“Because of the incredible interest in iPhone 4, today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history. As of Tuesday afternoon, customers who preorder iPhone 4 moving forward will receive their device on June 25 or later, depending on when the order is placed. We’ll email customers with confirmation once their order is placed, and again when it ships. In addition, we will have devices available on a first-come, first-serve basis in our stores beginning on June 24.”

Horrible experience :) I’m glad it’s over with and I’m glad I ordered from Apple.com instead of AT&T. I’ll see mine on the 24th.

I like how they will have some in stock but are saying they are sold out for preorders. Sounds like they would give the ones in stock to preorders.

i tried around 6:00AM and everything was really slow. Kept getting errors on the apple site. Shortly after that, the store went down for maintenance. tried at&t at the same time, but the iphone 4 wasn’t an option. Tried again around 1pm and had issues on apples site, but at&t worked fine. Just slow, took about 10 minutes.

  4. Rowan says:

I used the Apple Store App and it took me about 2 hours. The Apple website wasn’t even an option because it would freeze everytime.
