Claimed New iPhone Shots Leak Out Of Asia

KitGuru has a series of shots up of what is claimed to be the new iPhone/iPhone 5. Shown above alongside the iPhone 4S, the new device is obviously a touch longer and appears to be a little thinner. This so called “pre-release test sample,” which may be an engineering model or something similar, also has that smaller dock connector that’s been rumored for so long.

The one thing that’s hard to judge from the low quality of these shots is how prominent the color difference is between the two materials on the back. These pictures make it look pretty subtle, but other versions that we’ve seen are a bit more obvious.

So, what are everyone’s thoughts? Love it? Hate it? Gonna buy it anyway?

I absolutely hate the fact that the headphone plug is now at the bottom of the phone. That makes no sense to me what-so-ever. I do, however, like the darker colored trim. Another thing I’m not too keen in is the smaller charging port. What about all my iHome-type radios I have around my house. Are they shipping with any kind of adapter cord?? They need to be…

  2. Totally agree about headphone jack. SO STUPID TO PUT IT ON BOTTOM.

  3. The iPod touch has the headphone jack on the bottom so maybe that’s why they may change it to the bottom. I don’t want a smaller charger port unless it’s a thunderbolt port

  4. After 5 years of owning every iPhone, I switched to android last month w/ the Galaxy S3.

Apple is seriously lagging behind lately.

    • I don’t understand why you say Apple is lagging behind. Androids best phone isn’t even the S3 it’s the Nexus. I have both Android and the iPhone but the iPhone by far is better. The S3 is just an amplified S2 which is ok but it doesn’t do anything special when compared to other Droids.

  5. I don’t mind the bottom headphone jack. I put my phone in my pocket facing down so it’ll be nice with that just coming straight out. Less obtrusive when I’m textig and I won’t have to hold the chord from in front of the screen it’ll just hang. Small but nice little change.

exactly. I’ve always wanted the jack on the bottom. It just makes more sense. Doesn’t really matter anymore now, i also moved to android.

  6. I LOVE IT!!!!
Can’t wait for it to be released!!

  7. Glad they loved the headphone jack. I’ve liked it at the bottom since the first itouch. No cord in the way while you are using the phone and when it goes in your pocket you can take it out and it would be the right side facing up for you. Dot know why the hate towards it. It actually works out better for you.

  8. Yeah way better. Also, I really do like the darker colored band. Makes it looks awesome. Hopefully they keep it.

  9. I can see this new connector will break off at some point . the 30 pin is stable. the smaller connector will break . I hope they did some testing

  10. I don’t care where the hole is. I use Bluetooth headphones.

If this is the way the new iPhone will look, it’s not bad at all. Only a little taller. I hate the earphone jack on the bottom. If this is the final, I hope they will explain WHY they put the earphone jack on the bottom for this iPhone during the unveiling. I am so used to it being on the top and I like it there. If this is their decsion, I will have to live with it. I don’t use bluetooth and I listen to my music on my iPhone during my commute so this will be a big change for me. Other than that, I am excited to learn the goodies that will be in the new iPhone. Get ready #goincase @goincase. I’ll be seeing you guys with a fist full of $. I’ve got to dress this new baby when it comes out. I have to buy a whole new army of cases! Fun! I look forward to the new design. Apple doesn’t disappoint. I expect nothing bt the absolute best from them this go around! I’m sure it will be an awesome iPhone release (again!).
