724680 Citigroup Admits Major Security Flaw In iPhone App

If you use the Citi Mobile app for any of your banking, you might want to update. Right now. Citigroup have just admitted that there was a security flaw in the older versions, which stored your account numbers, bill payments, and security access codes to a hidden file on the iPhone. This file may also have been transferred to a computer when the iPhone synced with iTunes.

Citi doesn’t think the security of the app was ever breached, or that this file was even accessible. “We have no reason to believe that our customers’ personal information has been accessed or used inappropriately by anyone,” Citi said.

Still, it’s worth taking a minute to update it, just it case.
