China Blocks Dalai Lama Apps From Their App Store

Wow, China censoring views it doesn’t agree with? Who woulda thunk? The Chinese Government has apparently pressured Apple into nixing apps that they find politically offensive.

At least five Dalai Lama related apps have been pulled from the store, including apps with quotes from the spiritual leader, one that tells his speaking engagements, and one that gives details about him and other Nobel Prize winners. They’ve also pulled an app related to Rebiya Kadeer, an exiled Uighur leader.

Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller said ”We continue to comply with local laws. Not all apps are available in every country.”
