Damn, that looks sweet! Square Enix, the creators of the Final Fantasy games, comes a new RPG for the iPhone. Called “Chaos Rings”, it looks like a throwback to their PS1 and PS2 days. 3D characters against a static painted backdrop, turn based battles with giant foes, hit points flying everywhere, it quickens the blood, doesn’t it? From this trailer it looks like you’ll only have two people in your party at a time, but this is a big step up from the turn-based strategies that have dominated Square’s iPhone entries.
The Japanese version is said to be available in the app store soon, but we’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for the English language translation. Now we just have to wait for the inevitable slash pairings.
