It took about as long as a sneeze for iPhone 5 pre-orders to sell out through the Apple Store, and now the two largest carriers have followed suit. Both AT&T and Verizon have delayed shipping on the iPhone 5, meaning the first ones they’ll be able to get out the door have already all been purchased.

If you try and pre-order through Verizon, you’ll be presented with a delivery date of September 26; and AT&T’s site now says “Your iPhone 5…will be shipped in 14-21 business days”

For now Sprint is still offering delivery by September 21st, if you want that carrier. T-Mobile will have iPhone compatible nano-SIMs in October, if you managed to grab your iPhone 5 off contract.

Otherwise, you can always line up at the Apple store, pre-order through Wal-mart, Best Buy, Target, or try and pick one up at another retailer on launch day, like at a Radio Shack.
