Bloggers Battle Over iSlate’s Relevance

Joe Wilcox from Betanews posted an article saying the world doesn’t need the iSlate, and that the device wouldn’t do very well. He believes that it’s not far enough beyond an iPhone that people would use it and it’s a niche device, and that it might flop like the Cube. MG Siegler at TechCrunch wrote a response, saying he felt differently. After this, expect a round of “Nuh-uh!” “Yuh-huh!” and “I’m the paper, you’re the glue”, followed by a timeout for everyone.

Seriously, we know so little about the heavily rumored iSlate, that at this point guessing about its success seems futile. If nothing else, the print industry is going to grab onto it with all its power, in an attempt to avoid dying.

If it does e-books.. i’m all in. seriously… even if it just supports the kindle and B&N desktop apps (does B&N have one?… *kanye shrug*)… drop the kindle and get with it.. it’s an ereader/pc. just what I want/need. the rumor alone of this device has kept me from buying a nook.. and i really like the nook.
