iTunes Gains In-Browser Preview
iTunes is overhauling their in-browser link service, and phasing out forcing you to launch iTunes. Previously, whenever you clicked an iTunes link, the application itself would launch (or ask you to install it). The new loads an in-browser preview, with reviews, track lists, and other information. Unfortunately, you can’t preview any of the tracks through this method, you still have to use the iTunes store for that. So if you follow this link for 65daysofstatic’s excellent Escape From New York, you should get a feel for what the service offers. At present, this feature only works for music, but we hope it will roll out for iPhone apps soon, and help us avoid the annoying unwanted iTunes launch.
