AT&T Sues Verizon Over “There’s A Map For That”, Their Own Crummy Service

AT&T are suing Verizon over their recent “there’s a map for that” ad campaign, which painted a rather dim view of AT&T’s 3G coverage. AT&T has made the move because they believe the comparison maps imply that there is no coverage in the white zones, when in fact there’s no 3G coverage there, just 2.5G or Edge. So they’re not denying their 3G coverage is piss poor, but rather maintaining that at least they have something. Verizon have already slightly altered the ads to make them less inflammatory, by removing the words “out of touch” when referring to the non-3G areas, and adding some fine print at the end. Mostly, it just seems AT&T wants these ads off the air, as they expose some severe deficiencies in their coverage.
