Best Buy has had a good amount of success with their iPhone trade-in program and hope to continue that success with a new program for the iPad. Starting tomorrow, Best Buy will start accepting trade-ins of the iPad 2 or iPad 3. In return, customers will receive a minimum $200 Best Buy gift card which can be redeemed in store or online. The amount of the gift card is dependent upon the model and condition of the iPad.
Best Buy’s trade-in program experienced its best day in its four year history when it began offering customers a free iPhone 5 when trading in an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. They brought the program back in June, offering a free iPhone 5 with trade-in. Best Buy will look to recycle the iPads received as part of the promotion.
This offer varies in that it’s not tied to a specific product. You can use your Best Buy gift card to upgrade to a newer iPad or anything sold by the retailer.
This isn’t such a bad deal. A quick glance at eBay shows a used 16GB iPad 2 hovering around $250 or so. When you factor in eBay fees, shipping and hopes that you have a good buyer, the Best Buy offer looks pretty good.
How about you? Looking to trade-up or cash out? This offer is good Friday and Saturday.
