Best Buy Offering Free InvisibleSHIELD 4fix For iPhone 4

Engadget is reporting that Best Buy is giving away InvisibleSHIELD cases for the iPhone 4, including installation. It appears the usually $9.99 covering is completely gratis, for anyone with an iPhone. That’s right, you don’t even have to have bought it from Best Buy, just rock up, and they’ll put it on for you.

This hasn’t been officially announced yet, and much of this is supposition. It’s probably worth giving your local giant blue box a call, and making sure they’ll actually honor it. If they do, hey, it’s free, right?

    What’s the catch?

Sounds cool. I hope it’s legit!

  3. Craig says:

Sure hope it’s true but what do they hope to gain from giving it away free to all iPhone users not just those that have brought them from Best Buy?

    • fury says:

They’re probably hoping to make an upsell to a full invisibleshield front and/or back once you see what it does for the sides.

  4. Trason says:

I just called my local store to confirm and they are indeed giving the case away at no cost. My store said it still will cost me $8 to have it installed however. I suppose that isn’t to bad since I ordered a 3rd party case that won’t ship until Sept. 21st

  5. CASEACE79 says:

It’s just a marketing ploy. Clever one at that. They just want to get ya in the door hoping you’ll shop while you’re there.

Haha, yeah once they got their claws in, “Your MINE” haha. Does the invisible one not look a bit like an empty cd case? I’ve just got a contour iphone case coz my phone is scratched underneath but now it’s like a new phone :) :) :)

  6. Joker says:

My local store said only if you buy the iphone 4 through them.

  7. GrecoISU says:

You guys may be looking at this wrong. I see it as invisShield comping it to entice you to buy the whole shield. Best buy is just a medium.

Just went down and got mine. Totally free, no questions asked, and I didn’t buy the phone there. Installed and I love it. Great grip but the phone isn’t all covered up. Totally legit no gimmicks!

  9. BlindSpoTT says:

well i just called mine, they said only if i bought it there….

  10. SmartBuyer says:

The way I see it is that it costs the same for maximum coverage and full body so bestbuy buys only max coverage and takes out the sides slaps a sticker on saying full body and they get their money worth so doing it free is just a way to get people in the door.
