Yes, the iPhone 4 is meant to be super strong, and able to withstand quite a beating. Keep in mind, scratch resistant is not the same as scratch proof, and the at least one review units is already showing the signs of wear. Engadget found the phone they reviewed has already managed to get scraped up a little.
Remember folks, tough is not invulnerable. It still wouldn’t kill you to invest in a case, or at least try and be careful with your brand spanking new telephone.
Not that I’m one to talk, my iPhone 3G is so scratched up, it’s barely recognizable.

I went into the Apple Store yesterday to ask a couple questions in advance of Thursday’s rollout. I pulled out my 1st gen iphone to show the guy my ATT text message saying the $18 upgrade fee would be waived and he said, “Wow! That’s in great shape!”
I look at it and all I can see are the scratches and dings. But apparently, I’ve done a pretty fair job of protecting it, overall.
Ya, it seems like the glass might be softer then the older gen iPhones! Use caution, don’t clean the screen with jeans ect…
