Barnes and Noble has announced an agreement with AT&T that will provide free WiFi access at Barnes & Noble bookstores nationwide. The move appears to be a move to boost sales of the over 700,ooo eBook titles they offer, many of which offer a free trial available for download.

The free Barnes & Noble Bookstore app (App Store link) for iPhone and iPod allows customers to:

• Discover their next great read by browsing bestsellers, B&N Recommends lists, new releases or watching video interviews with authors.
• Check the events calendar for celebrity book signings, readings, musical performances and children’s Storytimes.
• Find the closest Barnes & Noble, get maps and directions.
• Use the iPhone’s camera to snap a photo of a front cover and within seconds promptly retrieve product details, editorial reviews, and customer ratings – even find and reserve a copy in the nearest store.
WiFi access is not only complimentary, but it’s also unlimited.
Apple why don’t you team up with something called MMS and get this ball on the move. It’s almost the end of July and nothing has been done!!!
