I have purchased Vaja cases for all my electronic devices since 2001. I hadn't yet grabbed one for my iPhone though, since I wasn't sure how long it would take Apple to change the design. I'm really happy I didn't get one for the first gen, and when I received my 3G last year for my birthday I still hesitated, thinking maybe the design was going to change in 2009. (In retrospect it wouldn't have made any difference, because I stayed with the 3G anyway).
I thought it would be a cool 50th birthday gift to myself to order a Vaja, so started working through the choices. That made my brain freeze and I had all but given up when I looked on eBay. There I found my latest case addition: bright pink Vaja with sunflower, green, and blue stripes. It wasn't until I purchased her that I realized the color combo was really clever: the stripes are the same as the color as the indicators in iTunes for audio, photos and apps.
I decided I wanted an "easy on" case for my iPhone. I also wanted one that looked good while protecting my phone. While browsing through images I found one that "fit the bill". The Handwoven series of More cases.
Today, I'm going to talk about the IMP500A external charger for the iPhone 3G, 3GS and 2nd generation iPod Touch. When I mention iPhone throughout this review, I'm also referring to all three devices mentioned above.
This thing is a beast. 5000mAh of pure charging goodness wrapped up in a well-constructed high-impact plastic case.
Incipio as of now has been the only company I have entrusted with protecting my investment. For many of iPhone fans, the iPhone is just an accessory they use on a daily basis. I for one only have limited funds and must protect my money as well as possible. Like some avid iPhone users, I do jailbreak and unlock phones for sale on ebay. So with every new iPhone that hits the market, I must ensure that my phone will stay in tip top condition before I unload the phone for sale prior to the next iPhone release. With explaining my financial situations, you know get a glimpse of how much effort went into finding a well balanced case that will stand the test of time.
Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the more popular gaming franchises for Sega, so naturally it was just a matter of time before the company made it available in the App Store. Sonic the Hedgehog for iPhone and iPod touch retails for $5.99, which costs more than traditional apps, but seems to be well worth it. The side scrolling game looks as if you figured out a way to wire a Sega Genesis to the iPhone, which for many is good thing. The graphics are well done and the gameplay is very good. As some of our iPhone forum members noted, the gameplay does experience some frame rate issues. Like many iPhone games, the touchscreen d-pad controls can leave you wanting physical buttons. Sega did not use the accelerometer and I'm guessing it's to allow for more immediate control of Sonic. If Sonic is a success, perhaps future incarnations of the Hedgehog would provide end users the option to select between the accellerometer and the standard on-screen d-pad controls.
Before the Sony PSP and even games like PacMan were handheld games like Mattel Football or if you were lucky Coleco Quarterback. Both LED handheld sports games that back in the late 70’s would generate the kind of excitement seen by kids today who get a Wii. If you are looking to rekindle a bit of yesteryear or looking to brush up on your handheld video game history, you are in luck. LED Football for the iPhone is a remake of the old classic Mattel Football handheld.
Joost dropped a little black Friday magic in the App Store late Friday night with the release of their new mobile offering. For those of you not familiar with Joost, they've been around for a while now with a desktop application, and a range of media they've licensed including old media and new. Now with their iPhone app they're rushing into the burgeoning mobile environment, and I for one welcome them.
