iPhone 3GS Announcement Coming at WWDC Tomorrow?
Posted by: Christopher Meinck on Jun 7, 2009
Tomorrow at 1pm EST, Apple's WWDC (Worldwide Developer's Conference) will get underway and the prevailing thought is that Apple will use the event to introduce the next generation iPhone. Daring Fireball's Jon Gruber, typically someone whose connections within Apple run deep, predicts a significantly faster iPhone featuring twice the RAM, faster processors and twice the storage. Apple will reportedly bump the iPhone line from 8GB/16GB to 16GB/32GB. Expect both versions to come black and white, like the current generation. Some analysts point to current line then shifting down to a $99 price point. Gruber says the new iPhone is codenamed iPhone 3GS, but it's not clear it that will be the product name. The big selling point will be the video camera and we've already seen AT&T's support site including an iPhone Video, so that's yet another possible name. Whatever they call it, it's coming and it's likely coming tomorrow. Time to put all the Photoshop images to bed and find out what's really coming from Apple.
