Apple today apologized for allowing 'Baby Shaker' to find it's way into the App Store. After a public outcry from numerous tech blogs starting with Krapps, the company started receiving complaints and removed the application. Today Apple followed up with a statement apologizing for the app ever making it's way through the approval process.

Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris said in a statement, "We sincerely apologize for this mistake" and called the game "deeply offensive".

The object of the game was to shake the iPhone until the baby would stop crying. Once you shook the iPhone hard enough, two red x's would appear over the illustration of the baby and the crying would stop.
