This time, the shoe is on the other foot, as AT&T diggs in for a battle with the Palm Pre. An internal document has surfaced pitting the upcoming Palm Pre vs the iPhone 3G.

One of the interesting bullet points is the iPhone 3G's "Patented multi-touch screen." Is this a sign that Apple will fire up the legal team upon the release of the Palm Pre? Either way, it's clear that AT&T views the Palm Pre as a major competitor. How will Apple respond? Perhaps the iPhone HD?
