Apple Preparing for iPhone HD?

According to a report on Phonenews, Apple might be looking at adding high definition playback capabilities to the next generation iPhone. Anyone up for iPhone HD? Apple has recently cleared out their inventory of Apple Composite AV Cables and Apple Component AV Cables. They speculate confirmed this is in preparation for a new consolidated cable that will support HD in the next generation iPhone. The new cable would support HD video output of 720p and 1080i.
In essence, the iPhone HD would become a portable AppleTV of sorts. Dock your next generation iPhone next to your high definition TV and have full AppleTV capabilities. AppleTV is one of the few products from Cupertino that hasn't been a big success. Enabling AppleTV features on an iPhone HD would help the company boost video rentals and sales.
