New iPhone Pro Rumored for June Release
Posted by: Christopher Meinck on Feb 3, 2009
Rumors are starting to heat up surrounding a June release for a new iPhone model. The first iPhone launched in June, 2007 and was followed up by the iPhone 3G release in June of 2008. The pattern seems to dictate a June 2009 release for the next model. This rumor is gaining steam today after an article containing information regarding the release of the iPhone 3G in Saudi Arabia.

The author mentions a June release date for a new iPhone, but there is no credible evidence to back up this date. Mark Davis, the program director for UAE carrier Etisalat, talks in general about the iPhone 3G. While Davis might know of future models, there are no quotes from Davis supporting the new iPhone or even the February 15th launch date in UAE. It does seem plausible that Apple would release a new iPhone in June. The iPhone 3G wasn't a major depature from the first version and there were mentions of iPhone 2,1 nesltled in the code of the last firmware update.
