We say goodbye to April showers and welcome May, with the flowering of some great new apps in the App Store. Just in time for the fourth, the Star Wars franchise brings us a new type of game with Star Wars Journeys: Phantom Menace. Games continue to dominate our weekly roundup, with Stickman Basketball, the fresh new Bicolor puzzler and Dwarven Den rounding out the group. But it’s not all fun and games this week, Crystalline can help you make beautiful music and You&Me makes a case for couples adding yet another messaging app to their iPhones. Welcome to another edition of the everythingiCafe Apps of the Week, for the week ending May 3rd, 2014.
While some games boast brilliant over the top 3D graphics, Bicolor is a puzzler that scores big for being the opposite. Bicolor is a great app for those who like a good challenge and appreciate the beauty of simplicity.
The game offers 180 hand-made levels, each using no more than two colors. Challenging, yet elegant in its presentation, Bicolor will appeal to those who enjoyed games like 2048.

You&Me – Messaging for Couples
Looking for a more intimate messaging app, created with couples in mind. You&Me was designed with couples in mind. It’s not interested in mining your Facebook contacts or bidding to become your default texting app. It’s unique twist is its laser focus on keeping couples in touch, with so much more than just words.
Couples can stay connected by sending photos using an assortment of filters, fonts, frames and stickers. A ‘halfsie’ lets you create a single photo, when you are far apart. All of your photos get conveniently stored in one library.
You can send a ‘secret’ photo that stays hidden until your partner reveals them. Beyond a traditional texting app, you can also send voice messages and short videos.
So call up your significant other, let them know you’ve heard about a great couples app on iCafe and enjoy a better way to keep in touch with the one you love.
