AppleTV Hacked For Browser, Last.fm Integration

The inevitable onslaught of hacked apps for the 2nd gen AppleTV continues, and one of the most useful of possible applications has now appeared: the web browser. This will come as part of a package from FireCore called aTV Flash (black). The browser is called Couch Surfer, and there will also be Last.fm integration, demoed after the jump.

A beta for the hack is expected to be released in the next couple of weeks, and you can apply at the link above.

I’m curious if the aTV will follow a similar path as the iPhone, where hacked apps arrive, and then Apple gets a hint and decides to enable native applications on the device.

I’m very excited for this! But…….. If they plan to charge the same amount for this version as they did for the original, I will probably not get it.

Don’t get me wrong, I am all for supporting devs, but $50 for something that has already been previously built for a similar device is a bit much. Even if the original is a different platform, tho I have read that IOS is easier to develope for…

I would be willing to do $10 or $15, maybe even $20, but that is even a lot . I guess we will see. Still very exciting!!!
