We didn’t expect world peace from the Apple/Samsung summit in San Francisco, but did hold out some hope that any sort of compromise could be reached. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that will be the case.
Amidst a background of calling Apple’s experts a “cult-like following” and claiming Apple’s suits had nothing to do with the major redesign of the Galaxy SIII, the overall mood between the two companies has not been pleasant. Now KoreaTimes is reporting that the two day meeting between the companies has yielded no compromise, and no agreement.
The two technology giants could find no clear agreement through the talks, according to a Samsung official. Apple Korea declined to comment on the matter. The patent battle is now headed for trial in July, despite both firm’s stated wish to avoid legal proceedings.
Apple still claims Samsung copied its designs, and Samsung asserts Apple isn’t paying it for the technology patents it uses.
What a surprise.
