Apples, Oranges, and Pears: Comparing Browsers of iOS, Android and Windows Phone 7

With Windows Phone 7 set to land in Europe in October, the smartphone wars are ready to have another major entrant. Website PocketNow has run a detailed, 10 minute comparison test of all three major platform’s browsers: iOS 4.0.1 on an iPhone 4, Android 2.2 on a Nexus One, and a beta of Internet Explorer on a Windows Phone 7 Device.

The fun stuff kicks in at about 4:14. All three hold their own pretty well, showing that none are significantly beyond the others — though I maintain that Safari Mobile is the best for browsing smoothness when scrolling and zooming.

I guess we’ll need to find something else to argue over apart from who has the fastest browser.

Something is taxing the iphone 4, I just went to http://www.engadget.com/
I only get a spit second checker board! Hmm my iPhone phone 4 is faster than his. He should have done the test on 3G.
The other phones have some advantages but I’d say looks aren’t one of them!

I agree Jstall. My iPhone 4 doesn’t experience hardly any checkerboarding at all on engadget.
