The popular evasi0n jailbreak compatible with iOS 6 might be coming to an end in an upcoming iOS 6 release. According to David Wang, one of the developers behind the evasi0n release, the latest beta release of iOS 6 patches one of the exploits used for the jailbreak.
The exploit was found in the time zone settings and is one of five used in the evasi0n jailbreak. Wang says the various vulnerabilities in the current version of iOS 6 are needed for the jailbreak to succeed.
If one of the vulnerabilities doesn’t work, evasi0n doesn’t work,” he says. “We could replace that part with a different vulnerability, but Apple will probably fix most if not all of the bugs we’ve used when 6.1.3 comes out.”
Wang expects Apple to take at least a month for the update to be released, but not all hope is lost for a new release from the evad3rs team. It would require starting from scratch and would depend upon the amount of bugs remaining after the iOS 6.1.3 release.
