Today’s Apple event starts at 1:00pm EST/10:00am PST. Today’s event will be live streamed to the Apple TV. A MacRumors reader noticed a new Apple Events icon. When selected, today’s Apple Special Event is shown as Live event, available for streaming.

It’s unclear if the event will be streamed on Apple.com. As with previous Apple events, you can always catch the event later today on their site or via download through iTunes.
Not a bad perk for those who own an Apple TV.
UPDATE: Apple will be streaming the even over the web, too. Starting at 10am Pacific, you’ll be able to watch the event on Safari.
