The Apple Store today started offering refurbished models of the iPad mini, with discounts of up to 9 percent off retail pricing. Supplies are limited, with only two models currently available for purchase. Buyers can select from either the Black/Slate 16G + WiFi for Verizon priced at $429 (regularly priced at $459) or the White/Silver 32GB WiFi for $389 (regularly priced at $429).
Based on this pricing, we could see sub-$300 pricing for the 16GB model. Also new in the Apple Store is the refurbished fourth gen iPad. Unlike the iPad mini, there are a full compliment of models available at a savings of up to 10 percent.
Apple’s refurbished products are often indistinguishable from brand new products, other than the generic packaging. They are all tested and certified and include a 1-year warranty. iPad models also include a brand new battery and outer shell.
