Following up reports from yesterday that Apple and EMI have signed a deal allowing rights for streaming music, today Bloomberg is reporting that Apple and Sony have signed a similar deal, making a triad of labels that have come on board if you include reports that Warner signed something similar in April. Of the big four labels, that just leaves Universal Music Group to come on board, and almost all your music will be licensed to stream. Bloomberg also believes that the service won’t require you to upload your music to the service, implying that it will scan what songs you own, and allow you online access to those wherever you travel, something hinted at in a patent that was unearthed yesterday.
