Sabine Liewald, a Swiss photographer has reached a settlement with Apple. The two parties had been in litigation over the use of Liewald’s eyeball image, which had been used during an Apple keynote in June.
What’s interesting about this case is that Apple actually did secure rights to the image. It was argued that the licensing was for “layout purpose only”. This of course restricts use of the image for any commercial purposes.
The terms of the settlement were not revealed.
