Apple has just released a new iPhone 4/4S bumper on the Apple Store. The (PRODUCT) RED bumper has just quietly been unleashed, and like other bumpers goes for $29, with a 4-6 business day ship time. It joins the extant collection of iPhone bumpers, which are available in black, white, blue, pink, orange, and green.
Does anyone else find the timing on this incredibly bizarre? Apple is releasing a new accessory for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S les than a month before the updated version is expected to launch — a new version which is thought to have a major physical redesign. I know that older iPhone models continue to sell well, but this is so close to the wire of a new product launch that I can’t imagine it won’t be very quickly overshadowed by other products.
