Apple today released two software updates. The first of which is a security update. Java for Mac OS X 2013-001 1.0 disables the Java SE 6 applet plug-in  and is likely a result of the recent attack  by hackers who infiltrated computers at Apple. Also available is iTunes 11.0.2.

The iTunes 11.0.2  update adds a new Composers view for music, improves responsiveness when syncing playlists with a large number of songs, and fixes an issue where purchases may not show up in your iTunes library. This update also includes other stability and performance enhancements.

Both updates are available through the App Store or by accessing Software Update through the Apple menu.
