In the wake of iOS falling rather quickly at Pwn2Own, Apple has allegedly promised a fix. Charlie Miller, the man who executed the hack, tweeted this:
Me and @dionthegod won pwn2own for iPhone, yippee. Apple already has the vulnerability information and will patch soon.
Assuming Miller is right, and that Apple will be issuing a patch in the near future, iOS 4.3.1 should hopefully be heading our way shortly. Isn’t it nice to have white hat hackers on your side? As AppleInsider notes, the advantage of pwn2own, the vulnerabilities are not meant to be released to the public, only to the software manufacturers, so they can be patched.
