Last year, Apple hit a major landmark by passing Exxon as the most valuable company in the USA. That’s nothing compared to where AAPL is sitting right now. See the market cap on that screenshot above? That’s $622.62 billion dollars, which officially makes Apple the most valuable publicly traded company of all time.

As pointed out by MacRumors, this title was previously held by Microsoft, as on December 30, 1999, MSFT had a market cap of $618.89 billion. This gives Apple the highest ever absolute value — however, if you account for inflation, Microsoft would still be on top, as at its peak, it would have hit $842.5 billion in 2012 dollars.

Apple’s stock is at an all time high on the back of rumors about upcoming product launches like the new iPhone, iPad Mini, and a potentially overhauled Apple TV.
