Apple Looking To Buy Chinese Game Makers?

There’s a remarkably odd rumor floating around, that Apple is poised to purchase a Chinese rich internet application (RIA) maker called Handseeing, for a reported $148 million. These reports come from Trading Markets and Global Times, though the former posits the price at 150 Billion, which we assume is a typo for the far more likely 1 Billion Yuan/$148 Million USD.

Why Apple would be willing to drop so much money on a company is up for debate. MacRumors suggests it might be because of their mad Java skills for online gaming, specifically social gaming communities. AppleInsider thinks it might be so that Apple can make more iOS games, as the only one they ever produced was Texas Hold ‘Em, which was made in ’08.

Either way, we’re suggesting a lot of salt for this, until we know for sure.
