Confirming a rumor that we heard earlier today, Apple has released a second Gold Master for iOS 4.2 on the iPad, possibly addressing Wi-Fi connection issues with the OS. The build number on the new Gold Master is “8C134b” where the previous version was “8C134″, and appears to be iPad only.
While it’s still too early to see if its fixed the iPad Wi-Fi connection bug, we’re guessing that’s the reason for the new version — especially seeing as it’s iPad specific.
Hopefully Apple will get the needed testing done ASAP, and we’ll see the new version of iOS released proper in the near future — we’re hearing rumors it might be on November 24.

It is indeed iPad only. The firmware for iPhone 4 and 3GS, etc are the same (8C134).
