Apple Is Censoring Fashion Mags For iPad

Apple has a strict “no nipples” policy when it comes to content for the app store, be it on the iPad or iPhone. So what happens when you take fashion magazines — which have a long and illustrious history of toplessness — and try and put them on the most popular tablet on the market?

Rumor has it that fashion mag Dazed & Confused has nicknamed the iPad version of their content “the Iran edition”, due to the oppressive censorship being forced on them.

To put it bluntly, isn’t this why the app store has age ratings? Is it seriously so damaging for a brand to see nipples in a fashion shoot? Will classical art start to follow?
