If you have plans on purchasing an iPad Air on Friday, several sites are reporting that Apple will offer personal pickup on November 1st. Sure you could wake up early and brave the elements, but using personal pickup option allows you to avoid lines while securing an iPad Air at your local Apple Store. The iPad Air will go on sale on Friday, November 1st at 12:00 am PST (1:00 MDT, 2:00 CST, 3:00 EST). Customers will be able to place their iPad Air order line and select ‘Check Availability’ for Personal Pickup, where you can expect to see ‘Available Today’.
Once you finish checkout, you’ll receive a confirmation email. If done during business hours, you’ll receive a notification that your iPad Air is ready for pickup within an hour. You can also set up your order to have someone else pick it up.
The iPad Air comes in Space Gray or Silver, with storage capacities starting at 16GB and ranging up to 128GB. One of two new iPads announced earlier this month, customers will have to wait until the end of October for the iPad mini with retina. The lower price, popularity of the original iPad mini and relatively identical specs could have customers passing on the iPad Air. However, with the drastically reduced size of the full-sized tablet, customers may once again move up to the bigger display.
We’ll see how this all shakes out on Friday morning. With personal pickup as an option, you can enjoy having a launch day iPad Air and get a good nights sleep. Sounds like a winning combo.
