Apple announces iOS 6. There are 200 new features. Siri is capable of new tricks. During the demonstration, they showcased Siri providing updated MLB scores, stats for Buster Posey and the updated schedule for the opening game for the SF 49ers. Siri can find expanded information about restaurants, including ratings, Yelp integrated reviews and menu pricing. Apple has partnered with OpenTable, making it easier to make reservations.
Siri has also updated the capability to find movies playing locally, with Rotten Tomatoes integration and the ability to view a trailer within Siri. Asking questions about a director or actor will provide current and previous information.
Siri can now launch apps. During the demo, they asked to “Play Temple Run”. In less than 2 seconds, Temple Run launched. If you have a good number apps, this is a great improvement.
