Apple today introduced a two-step verification, an optional security feature to safeguard your Apple ID. Those who take part receive a special code to a trusted iOS device. That recovery key code in turn is used in combination with your Apple ID password to make iTunes purchases and get Apple ID related help from Apple. By using this added level of security, it helps protect your Apple ID which can also be used for iCloud, wiping, locking and locating your devices.
Two-step verification is available in the U.S., UK, Austria, Ireland and New Zealand. It can be added by accessing the Password and Security section of your Apple ID at My Apple ID.
