One of the nicer facets of Siri on iOS is that she has a sense of humor. Ask her any number of bizarre and funny questions, and she’ll usually have a quippy comeback — just have a look at the STSS blog for proof. Now it looks like Apple is trying to make her even wittier, at least according to new jobs posted by Apple.
9to5Mac spotted a posting on Apple’s website which has since been removed, but the Technology Review dug up one similar on LinkedIn — and Apple is looking for a writer/editor for Siri. The company is looking for someone to:
Develop and write original dialog to support new Siri capabilities; refresh and refine existing Siri dialog.
Work closely with interaction designers in formulating utterances, and in specifying them and their parameters for engineering staff.
So, if there are any wordsmiths in the house, here’s a chance for a job with Apple that doesn’t require programming. Just wit and wordplay. Hmmm…maybe I can turn my skills for useless puns into a job…
