Apple Files Complaint Over iPhone Related Domain Names

Apple has filed a complaint with the Word Intellectual Property Forum regarding seven domain names that include the term iPhone. The most notable of the group being iPhone4S.com. It seems the owners of said domain names are hiding behind a WHOIS privacy service, making it difficult for Apple to contact the owners. Making matters worse has been the misuse of the domain names, as they are all channeling to some type of porn.

As noted by AppleInsider, Apple has turned to WIPO in the past, allowing them to acquire ipods.com. In the past, Apple has shown they can be extremely litigious should a website include any of the their trademarked names within the domain name.
