Apple today confirmed that they have dropped the restocking fee normally associated with returning an iPhone. Although unconfirmed, this likely only applies to the iPhone 4 and not the iPhone 3GS. Earlier today, Apple issued a press release outlining a forthcoming software release that will correct the signal display indicator. Customers who are not fully satisfied were “reminded” they could return the iPhone to an Apple Store for a full refund.
Full refund and no restocking fee. Anyone planning on returning their shiny new iPhone 4?

HELLLL NO! I’m keeping mine! I love it!
Oh heck no!!!! I’m not returning MY baby!!!!
Heres the thing. I got a case whenI got my IPhone 4. I honestly haven’t had any signal issues with my new phone no matter how I hold it. I am not returning my phone. Just try and pry it from my cold dead fingers…..
I would never return it!
Even if you returned it, I’d guess it wouldn’t free you of your contract with AT&T, especially for those of us who already were under contract. And really, other than an iPhone, what other phone on AT&T would you even think twice about getting??
What is that saying?? They can have it back when they pry it from my dead cold hand….

I just wish that FaceTime was over the cell network
And I wish that I could use it with my Mac iChat
The battery life is awesome !!!
The Flash (camera ;->) is cool too!!
Need more apps for the gyro.
and where is the jailbreak????
Ha… I never even knew there was a RS fee. No matter, as others have mentioned, they’d have to PRY this sucker outta my hands. It’s all mine!!!!!!!
@comncense You have a 30 day “buyers remorse” period with AT&T. If you return the phone within 30 days you will be restored your upgrade eligibility and reverted to your prior contract expiration. I called AT&T before I upgraded.
I love my iPhone 4 too! I won’t return it unless the white one’s come out within 30 days
Heck NO! With a sexy case, my iphone 4 doesn’t drop bars…. the only downside for me is I have no service at my house… but I never did. I was SO hoping that the signal strength would be a bit better but I knew this going in when I bought my 3G. I can only hope that when AT&T absorbs the Alltel lines from Verizon, I will have service again. My camera works just fine and I don’t seem to get the yellowing/green cast in low light. I love my Iphone 4.
Could it be traded in for the white one if it came out within 30 days?
@SHERRYL
You should look into getting a cell signal booster.
As long as you have at least 1 bar the signal booster will attenuate that signal a great deal.
Anyway good luck.

@STEVE
“As long as you have at least 1 bar the signal booster will attenuate that signal a great deal.”
Steve, I don’t think attenuate is the word you are wanting to use here. Attenuation is a loss of signal over distance… If the booster causes a great deal of lost signal…that would be bad.
I assume you are referring to “amplification”.
I get zero bars in my house…. I have already been told that a signal booster will not help and I will be damned before I am going to pay AT&T more money for their wifi unit for service I should have anyway.
Well if they allow you to return it then it takes some of the steam out of the lawsuits that are in the works. Everything is a calculated move with them. People are so special sometimes. Let’s have a time line here. 1. don’t hold it that way., 2. Buy a case the problem with go away. 3. Math problem with determining signal strength. So I thought there was nothing wrong with the phone. So we all get a update and our signal bars drop down 2 bars in locations were we had full service with our 3Gs or 3G phones. Steve not all people in the States are that stupid. Some of us think about you are saying.
Apple has NEVER charged a restocking fee on ANY iPhones within the first 30 days of purchase. AT&T charges as restocking fee, but for Apple, the policy on iPhones has always been 30 days to return for any reason, and no restocking fees. Trust me, I worked for Apple since before the first iPhone was launched.
Signal is crap on mine…every where
