And so the legal wrangling continues. Apple sued HTC. HTC counter-sued. Apple is now suing again for four more patents:
- 7,383,453: Conserving power by reducing voltage supplied to an instruction-processing portion of a processor
- 7,657,849: Unlocking a device by performing gestures on an unlock image
- 6,282,646: System for real-time adaptation to changes in display configuration
- 7,380,116: System for real-time adaptation to changes in display configuration
Seriously, they patented “slide to unlock”? That’s really pushing it, isn’t it? The power conservation one might be a bit interesting, and the last two are utterly opaque, and extremely broad.
This all strikes me as standard posturing. Expect this to continue on more or less indefinitely.
