Apple and Amazon have been locked in a legal battle over the title App Store since March of 2011, and now a judge is forcing them to attempt a reconciliation before coming back to the courtroom. According to AllThingsD, the two companies have been ordered to discuss settlements by U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Laporte before they’re allowed back in court to rip each other’s heads off.
The settlement discussion is due to start March 21, in advance of the August 19 trial, and is to be attended by executives empowered to actually settle and negotiate as needed.
However, given previous attempts of this nature between enemies like Samsung and Apple, I wouldn’t hold my breath over a decision being reached.
