App Store Unofficially Hits 1 Million Approved Mark

While Apple may not have officially announced it, app discovery service Appsfire is claiming that one million apps have been submitted and approved to the App Store overs its entire life. As reported by TNW, Appsfire believes that since 2008, the iOS App Store has seen an even million apps survived the approval process.

Naturally, not all of them make the cut. Apparently 736,247 are currently live, around 45% (336,270) are paid,  and 120,065 are games. The 263,753 not accounted for in those numbers are apps that were approved, and then removed. Unfortunately, there are no numbers about those apps that never survived being submitted in the first place. Alas, all those rejected apps lie in an unmarked grave somewhere.
